Champion charity single

Members of Vision join scratch choir for charity single

Members of Vision Choir answered the call out to come together and collaborate with the Pandemonium Drummers and others on this unique project in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Felix Buxton (Basement Jaxx) teamed up with the Pandemonium Drummers supported by a host of other singers including Basement Jaxx regulars Brendan Reilly (Disclosure featured artist), Vula Malinga, Melissa Cavanagh (Team Boy George on The Voice), and Gina Maloney (supported by Teenage Cancer Trust). They recorded the single alongside a scratch choir including Vision Choir, other London 2012 volunteers, members of Gospel Essence, London House Cats Choir and children from Hackney Council’s Young Hackney.

The resulting single ‘ Champion’, written by Pandemonium Drummer, Denis Fernando and produced by Felix Buxton (Basement Jaxx) was released on 27 July 2016, to coincide with the 4th anniversary of the Opening Ceremony for London 2012.

‘Champion’ is an anthem of unity, hope and positivity, celebrating the Olympic legacy which united the country and placed London at the centre of a buzzing international community in 2012. The song demonstrates the powerful impact of the ‘can do’ spirit shown by people from all walks of life, embodied by the volunteers from London 2012, celebrated on the world stage, and which continues to this day.

We’re proud to have been part of such an amazing project.
